For a glowing skin on your wedding day

During the final weeks before your Big Day, you have thought of every little detail for a perfect wedding day look: white dress, nails, make-up and hair, but you may have forgotten the basis to looking picture-perfect: a radiant skin. The most important thing to avoid is waiting until the last minute. Just like everything related to weddings, a skincare regimen needs to be planned ahead.   Skincare routine Wedding stress can affect your complexion but you can avoid the little surprises that may arise by following a skincare routine that will leave you with a glowing skin on your wedding day. The ideal is to consult a specialist 6 months prior to the wedding, however, 3 to 4 months are usually sufficient. For monthly facials, it is advised that the last facial to be no later than 2 weeks before the Big Day. Moreover, to reduce any risks of redness and irritations, avoid anything chemical or too aggressive at least one month prior to the wedding. If you don’t feel the need to consult a specialist, there are some simple guidelines that should help you maintain a healthy skin: cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize… and always use sunscreen and make-up products with incorporated SPF.   Skincare-routine   Adopt a healthy diet and exercise Having a clear skin is the result of a healthy diet so restrain from caffeine, alcohol, sugar and processed foods while eating loads of vegetables. As for exercising, you should keep in mind that working-out stimulates mood enhancers and can get you rid of any unwanted stress. Hydration is also important so do not forget to increase your daily water intake.   healthy-diet   Get your beauty rest Other than being good for your well-being, sleeping rejuvenates your body tissues and cells, which leads to a healthy skin. 7 to 8 hours of sleep are recommended especially during the last month prior to the wedding.   The unwanted surprise Even if you have done everything right, that most dreaded pimple can appear due to wedding stress. For whiteheads, experts advise to apply a hot compress to help reduce it followed by a cold compress. Zits can also be cured by applying a small amount of benzoyl peroxide on the surface before going to bed. This will make them dry out and reduce in size. For irritated skin, apply cool cotton pads soaked in milk or chamomile tea followed by an application of lukewarm water.   The-unwanted-surprise   Additional advices Avoid plucking eyebrows, body waxing and self tanning the day before the wedding. The ideal is to have your eyebrows shaped about one week before. As for body waxing, it should be done at least 3 days before the wedding while facial waxing needs to be done at least one week to 10 days before. Also, avoid going over the top with the self-tanner or by going to the tanning salon. Aside for skin safety issues, what you think is a little color can look much darker on photographs contrasted with a white dress so substitute with a cream or powder bronzer. You can try it in advance and even skip it if you don’t like the results.     About Esposa Esposa is a bridal boutique that is all about luxury brands offering every bride-to-be a one-stop store to find and shop her wedding look including her dream gown, the perfect wedding shoes and the accessories that she needs.
