Sometimes all a bride needs to do is sit back and relax for a while…and let other brides worry about their own weddings! Here’s our top 10 list about wedding movies that are perfect to blow the steam while preparing for your big day.1-Bride Wars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway are two beautiful best friends that get engaged at the same time. All they ever wanted was to have their fairy tale wedding at the Plaza… But something happens that turns them against each other, and they will do anything in their power to destroy the other one’s magic day. It’s definitely a funny movie revolving around the whole “Bridezilla” theme. 2-Father of the Bride It’s always a bit sad for parents, especially fathers, when their girl turns into a woman and leaves the nest. It’s even harder for Steve Martin, who really didn’t expect his daughter to get married so soon. This movie is a sweet comedy, which is actually a remake of the 1950’s one with Elizabeth Taylor, equally funny and beautiful. 3-The Runaway Bride Julia Roberts was undeniably the star of the 90s. After playing in the iconic “Pretty Woman” together, the actress and Richard Gere worked together again on “The Runaway Bride”. Julia Roberts has made the buzz and been labelled as a “runaway bride”: every time she’s about to get married, she leaves her fiancé at the altar. Richard Gere, a handsome journalist, is sent there to investigate. 4-My Best Friend’s wedding Cameron Diaz appears in this movie as a sweet bride who’s getting married to Julia Robert’s best friend, and she asks her to be her bridesmaid. It makes things harder for Julia Roberts who wants to stop this wedding; because of the deal to get married she had with Dermot Mulroney (the groom) ever since they were children. It makes you wonder what you’d do if you were in her place. 5-My Big Fat Greek Wedding If you still haven’t watched this movie, you should stop everything and get to it right now. Toula, played by Nia Vardalos, is part of a Greek family who likes keeping it Greek. Past 30 years old, everyone considered she would die an old maid, until she meets Ian (John Corbett), who’s the perfect guy…but he’s not Greek. This is a funny movie, with countless gags related to Greek superstitions, to which we can all relate! 6- Four Weddings and a Funeral How could anyone resist Hugh Grant with his handsome looks and lovable accent? In this movie, surprisingly, he has a hard time finding love. However, when he meets Andie MacDowell at a wedding, he finally feels his luck turning. Problem is, she has to go back to the States! But there’s a good reason why this movie is called Four Weddings and a funeral. It’s a great movie to prepare for wedding season! 7- Sweet Home Alabama Aside the fact that this movie is an anthem for all the Alabama lovers, Reese Witherspoon plays the role of a woman who’s about to get married to the ideal man. Problem is… she’s already married! She has to fly back to her home country in order to sort it out. This movie is all about true love, and it’s just precious! 8- 27 Dresses It might seem completely fictional that Katherine Heigel would always be the bridesmaid, never the bride, given how beautiful and talented she is. However, it’s fiction, so we might as well enjoy her putting on 27 different dresses as she attends 27 weddings as the one who does all the work, but still doesn’t get married. She does have a love interest however… and she gets her own happy ending along with a wedding gown. 9- The Wedding Planner This movie features the unforgettable J-Lo in one of her first big screen roles ever. The beautiful Latina is a wedding planner, and a very good one at that. Her daily life is to organize the perfect day for the bride and groom, and having to go back to her own reality of being single and… a bit sad to say the truth. That is, until she meets Matthew McConaughey, who, as it turns out, is getting married to one of her clients! 10- Monster-in-Law Jennifer Lopez does make a beautiful bride. But in this movie, it’s never about her, always about her future mother-in-law (Jane Fonda). It’s true they can be quite a hassle sometimes, but if you want to marry the man of your dream, and if he looks anything like Michael Vartan, you’d better put up with her the best you can.
